Congressional Hearing: Examining Open Multiple Employer Plans

The Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) held a hearing on Multiple Employer Defined Contribution retirement plans, which allow small businesses to jointly establish 401(k)-style retirement accounts. Multiple Employer plans are designed to reduce the fixed costs, regulatory burdens and fiduciary risks that prevent many small businesses from offering retirement plans.
